The Cambrian Explosion; The Ordovician Radiation; The Late Ordovician extinction event; taxonomic studies of fossil sharks, birds, brachiopods, trilobites, cephalopods, conodonts and foraminifera; biostratigraphy, palaeobiogeography and palaeoecology of the Lower Palaeozoic succession in Greenland, Northern Europe and China; biostratigraphy and palaeoecology of the Upper Mesozoic and Cenozoic succession of Denmark, the North Sea and the Caribbean; the K-T boundary; statistical analyses in palaeontology.

Origin and early evolution of the Solar System; meteorites from Mars and recent volcanic activity on Mars, automated detection of asteroids in deep space.

The early evolution of the Earth

Mineralogy
Crystal chemical studies of minerals, primarily from alkaline complexes and carbonatites in Greenland.

Tertiary volcanism in West-Greenland

The geology of the North Atlantic volcanic province. The volcanism in the Nuussuaq bassins (age approx. 53-62 ma.).
